Mitchell Cheng is a pianist from Bucks County, PA and New York City.
He was classically trained as a child at the Peabody Institute and in Piano Guild and Royal Conservatory Development programs in Texas, Maryland and NJ.
At 12, he returned to his PA birthplace to attended the first ever CampJazz by the COTA organization where he met and became the apprentice of Eric Doney. Mitchell is grateful to have spent the last decade learning from the incredibly generous and renowned jazz artists a from Delaware Water Gap and associated with COTA such as Phil Woods, Dave Liebman, Rick Chamberlain, Zach Brock, and Phil Markowitz.
Mitchell graduated from Manhattan School of Music from in 2017. At MSM, he studied with Garry Dial, Ted Rosenthal and Phil Markowitz.
Mitchell performs regularly in New York City, Delaware Water Gap and Bucks County, PA. An engaging entertainer and composer, he often presents original music with his trio.
